Battle of France edit

Should that be 8 or 9 kills? David Underdown (talk) 18:22, 2 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

8. The 9th was scored during the Phoney War period, therefore it was not a kill made during the French campaign. Dapi89 (talk) 10:37, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

McKellar edit

Can't have it both ways. November 2 is incorrect date, while Nov 1 is correct date of McKellars death. However, even Nov 1 is outside of the official date set for Battle of Britain by British. October 31 is last date to be included in BOB, so therefore this fact of Lippert shooting down McKellar during the BOB is factually incorrect by current standards.

The Archie McKellar article says that one Helmut Lippert was probably responsible for shooting down McKellar. Is this an error or are we dealing here with different men? Drutt (talk) 03:09, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Actually both Wolfgang and Hlemut were given as the first name in different places in the McKellar article, i've tidied that up now, and settled on Wolfgang. David Underdown (talk) 09:54, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think this article spends too much time discussing Archie McKellar, since the subject of this article is actually german ace Wolfgang Lippert AadaamS (talk) 17:30, 5 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

Does not meet WP:SOLDIER & sig RS coverage not found link, just passing mentions and / or non RS militaria literature.

No de.wiki article exists. Did not hold a significant command and topped out as Captain. Successful completion of missions (sorties flown, # of enemy aircraft shot down, etc) is not part of SOLDIER. A MilHist RfC on this topic has failed to gain consensus in May of 2017:

Please also see a note at MilHist Talk Archives for background behind the redirect. In summary, per the outcome of the discussion at Notability:People on notability of Knight's Cross recipients: permalink, certain recipients were deemed non notable and WP:SOLDIER has been modified accordingly: diff. The articles of these recipients are being redirected to alphabetical lists. K.e.coffman (talk) 03:09, 2 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
