Photos
editIf anyone has some good photos, the article needs one or two. skorpion 07:11, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
- Months after this request, I've finally got around to taking some photos of Wodonga. I'll trawl throught them and upload some this week. Blarneytherinosaur talk 06:38, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've put two up. I'll see if there are any others that are worth putting up. If there is anything specific we need a photo of, I should be able to take one with a bit of notice. Blarneytherinosaur talk 01:58, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Unreferenced nickname
editI have removed the following from the opening paragraph: "Wodonga is also commonly referred to as "The Dong" by its residents." I've been about the local area for a while, and I've heard Wang, Yak and Tangam, but not this one. Anyone else? Blarneytherinosaur talk 01:58, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've never heard it either, so it's going. --Robert Merkel 05:44, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
I am a lifelong Wodonga resident and noticed this term appearing in the early 90s. It is still prevalent today. --Michael Kearns 10:54, 13 November 2008 (UTC). I would recommend it for re-inclusion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.6.37.214 (talk)
Actually, since seeing it here I've heard it a bit around the place, including on Facebook. Still, we don't have a citation for it. I'll have to check out the Australian National Placenames Survey [1], but I'm not hopeful. Blarneytherinosaur gabby? 00:32, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- I haven't heard it, and I have heard of the others (Wang, Yak, Tangam) as well as ones to the west, such as Yarra, Mul, Deni, Shep and Toc. "The Dong", probably not in reliable sources yet. -- Mattinbgn\talk 00:51, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Climate summary in infobox
editI have changed the data in the info box regarding temperatures. Previously ridiculous values were there -max of 45, min of minus something, and rain of 75mm. I have amended the numbers to reflect the annual 'mean' maximum, and the annual mean minimum, and the annual mean rainfall, as per http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/tables/cw_082056.shtml
which is from the Wodonga measurement station, which stopped recording in 1984. An alternative would be to use the Albury Airport numbers which is still recording. Tonzo 07:35, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
pronunciation
editThe IPA had /o/, and ref'd Macquarie, but AFAIK Macquarie does not use "o". It's either /o:/ or /ɔ/. I assumed the latter (generic /ɒ/), but please correct if it's /ɔ:/. kwami (talk) 08:28, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
- /ɒ/ is fine. -- Mattinbgn\talk 08:31, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

- Surprisingly, this article doesn't have a section on "Notable residents and former residents", such as that for nearby Wangaratta. Perhaps you could create one. Ms Hollingsworth would definitely qualify for a place in such a section. HiLo48 (talk) 02:29, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
