Talk:Wladimir Klitschko vs. Tyson Fury

use of the word "claim" edit

I removed this word for the following reasons.

1. The sources do not use that term. They say that he was cut. They don't state or imply that there was anything fictitious about that statement.

2. As per WP:CLAIM it is explained very clearly that "To write that someone asserted or claimed something can call their statement's credibility into question, by emphasizing any potential contradiction or implying a disregard for evidence." - it's not a neutral term, and we should be striving for neutrality at all times.

3. As per WP:OR, as editors we do not come to conclusions, or imply conclusions. We provide verifiable facts, from reliable sources. Nothing should be implied.

4. As per WP:BLPREMOVE there are a number of reasons for removing content immediately, one of them is "is a conjectural interpretation of a source (see No original research)"

If someone doubted the legitimate nature of Haye's injury, there are ways to inform readers of that doubt. Due to the above issues, we have to be very careful when doing so, and make it very clear that we are merely quoting someone's opinion, rather than giving a proven fact.
