On verifiability

edit

I added some content, but no inline citations. Policy requires that content be verifiable, and this content is. Please don't remove text that is verifiable, and please don't flag with "citation needed" unless the content is in dispute. (For example, it is not in dispute that the Nazis talked about "freedom and bread.")

The anecdote about Niemand soll hungern ohne zu frieren, "No one shall be hungry without being cold", came to me by personal correspondence, but I'm sure it's documented somewhere.

What's most important for this article, I think, is some evidence that WHW actually ever did anything. Roches (talk) 13:23, 3 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Similar initiatives were started in countries in German-occupied Europe

Perhaps in Western Europe. In the East German exterminated rather than helped.Xx236 (talk) 09:36, 11 August 2016 (UTC) Secours d'Hiver exsited probably only in Belgium, France had own organisation.Xx236 (talk) 09:59, 11 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

CITEVAR

edit

I plan on rewriting and improving this article; since the current reference style is somewhat cumbersome, I wanted to ask whether there would be any objections if I switched over to shortened footnotes in the process. Thanks, Blablubbs|talk 19:17, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Since there have been no objections, I have gone ahead and made the change. I'm working on improving the article in my sandbox for now. Blablubbs|talk 23:17, 10 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

What happened with the money raised?

edit

The article focuses a lot on the raising of money but barely mentions where the money goes. This is a fundamental piece of information that should really be made clear on this page. I'm not an editor myself but would like to flag this to anybody able to make that change.

I found this on the page for the NSV: "One of the NSV's main activities was the Winter Relief of the German People, which coordinated an annual drive to collect charity for the poor to provide them with heating and food over the winter months." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.232.72.16 (talk) 10:56, 26 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
