Talk:Windows System Assessment Tool

Service pack 2

edit

Could this be updated for vista sp2? I think it's still a 1 - 5.9 scale, but not sure. 121.98.212.178 (talk) 15:45, 6 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Without Vista?

edit

Is there any way to run this tool on a Windows XP system without actually installing Vista? E.g. can you launch it from the Vista DVD somehow? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.13.220.185 (talk) 18:58, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Really exclusive to Vista Ultimate?

edit

What is it about this tool that makes it exclusive to Vista Ultimate? I have seen this under both Vista Business and Vista Enterprise too. -- Northgrove 00:22, 22 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Its in home premium too.

10 Requirments

edit

Could someone list the basic system requirments to get a 10 i heard Just having one 8600GTX is enough to experiance full vista.

Currently the highest score possible is a 5.9 As hardware advances, Microsoft intends to increase the max number, but your number will not change without a change in hardware.--Ryudo (talk) 22:20, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

The vista rating site listed in External links has some devices registering 7 as of today --Elven6 (talk) 18:42, 2 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Intel Graphics and WinSat

edit

It was my understanding that Intel integrated this technology into their drivers around the time Windows Vista was set to come out. This was to allow Aero to run in special circumstances in which it wasnt allowed to previously run before. JasonHockeyGuy (talk) 19:45, 19 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The WEI and hardware / software requirements

edit

It's alright if you're going to use hardware / software stating a minimum WEI number with Windows Vista / 7, but what if I want to use it with earlier versions? Or my Linux box? Or my MacBook? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.3.210.150 (talk) 18:47, 14 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Vendors using WEI

edit

Could we make a new page for vendors that use WEI as an indication of system requirements and use that as citation? The list would have to include manufacture, product and a source of info for that product (i.e. Manufacturer's product page) --Avitus27 (talk) 21:48, 12 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Does the WinSAT/WEI API still exist in Windows 8.1?

edit

The article mentioned that the command-line version of WinSAT still exists in Windows 8.1 but nothing about the API, is it still there?
