Using WinNuke on somebody else's computer without his/her express approval was and is probably illegal, right? Can somebody offer information on that? Is it possible that it was legal once and is illegal now, just like spreading computer viruses? Or was it always illegal, or always legal? I'm curious! :-)

  • If you still want to know three years later, the answer is: Illegal in what country / state? Every place has different laws. It also depends on how the laws are interpreted. While most specific laws relating to computer crimes were passed only after computers became widespread, more vague laws about causing damage to property might apply. Why it is called Denial-of-service attacks? a single TPC packet cause blue screen there is nothing to do with Denial of service where the computer is still active but can't communicate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.115.235.2 (talk) 12:40, 11 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
