Things to improve this page edit

Currently, this page gives only a very brief definition the Wilson cycle, and I think it should be expanded to provide a more comprehensive overview of the concept. At the very least the ideas of reactivation of old sutures leading to the continental breakup and the effect of mantle plumes should be discussed in the context of Wilson cycle. It would also be good to discuss links between the Wilson cycle and mantle convection -- i.e. assembly of the continental blocks over the large-scale downwellings within the mantle, and the inversion of the flow geometry leading to the dispersal. Other things worth mentioning are the possible links with true polar wander and climate change.

I also think that the importance level should be bumped up at least to the "Medium."

Any other suggestions? Eikeskog1225 (talk) 13:48, 13 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Evaluation of the Wilson Cycle Article edit

The article's description of the actual Wilson Cycle is far too brief. It primarily focuses on its relation to the Atlantic Ocean being a suture. This is a bit of a distraction and makes it a little difficult to fully understand what is going on with the Wilson Cycle. It needs to go more in depth with the actual processes that happen in the Wilson Cycle. Also, there are links to the less colloquially used words, but not all of them have links or definitions.
