editI see Wilmot has been at it again, removing the unbiased information and history and adding commercial messages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.94.122.6 (talk) 20:36, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Come on guys, this is supposed to be a neutral, informative page. It is not a commercial for the hill, websites or gamers. Wilmot - if you are going to add information, it can not be in the form of a commercial or read like a brochure. Please see the Wiki rules - and check your spelling and grammar next time.
Just because a site has photos and videos does not make it a reference. --Rickdrew (talk) 07:25, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
The information on the hill not being a "Garbage Dump" is important, so please don't remove it. Probably 95% of people that know about the hill believe this myth. Some people avoid it for that reason. My writing history has included a lot of promo pieces, so even my non-promo peices have that undertone. Not intentional though. --Rickdrew 20:24, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- It may not be intentional, but the neutral point of view still has to be kept. There's also not much in the way of sourcing here - there's a link to the Kenosha History Center but there doesn't seem to be a connection to Wilmot at first glance. Someone must have written about why the locals think it's a garbage dump, or investigated it - maybe a local paper. ColourBurst 04:22, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
Actually, nobody knows where the "garbage" rumor started. I've spoken to long time Wilmot skiiers and employees (going back 35+ years) and they heard the rumor back then. There may have been a dump in the area in 1999, but even the state can't verify it. They have it listed in their "dump" database, but with the note that the database is not verified for accuracy. The rumor is so far spread that even newer BMX sites reviewing the hill warn of the smell of rotting garbage under the hill - obviously they were never there, as the hill has never had that smell! While I was here, I edited some text and added many more links, including history and sources. --Rickdrew 10:37, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
