I have been unable to verify the claim that this pidgeon saved 2000 troops alone, when some other sources estimate the total lives saved during the war by all messenger pidgeons in the hundreds. I have also been unable to find detail of the exact message that was sent. Suggest the number of lives saved should be removed until more information can be found.
