This article failed good article nomination. This is how the article, as of May 28, 2007, compares against the six good article criteria:
1. Well written?:Pass
2. Factually accurate?:FailMany statements are missing sources, 2 out of the 3 web page references cannot be found.
3. Broad in coverage?:Pass
4. Neutral point of view?:Pass
5. Article stability?Pass
6. Images?:FailImage should have a correct fair use rationale on them (I suggest Template:Fair use rationale) and it should be more detailed.
When these issues are addressed, the article can be resubmitted for consideration. If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to take it to a GA review. Thank you for your work so far.

An image used in this article, File:NYT 1926 - Ripley speaks.png, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: Wikipedia files with no non-free use rationale as of 3 December 2011
What should I do?
Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.
I strongly disagree that it should pass the fourth crieria of "Neutral point of view". This article clearly has been written to support and legitimize the racist theories of William Riply. Verde10 (talk) 11:25, 30 March 2012 (UTC)verde10Reply
