Stumbled across this page as it was on a looooooooong list of pages that needed work for WikiProject Skepticism. What an interesting case. So it looks like it is going to need a bunch of cleanup and organizing, some of my favorite things to do. All done - so much more interesting than I would have thought. I feel so much more knowledgeable after working on this. In fact I wrote it while on the couch sitting outside the Stanford hospital while being a caregiver for a family member. This kept me occupied. So the things I wanted to point out to whomever wanted to help with this page. Firstly it really needs images, there were lots in newspapers, but of course we don't have access to those images ... yet. I also could not find out much about the person other than this case. I don't know where he was from, his education or what ended up happening to him afterwards. There was a mention that he moved to rural Louisiana and continued working as a doctor, but I could find no mention of this. He was married during this but no idea who she was so I didn't mention her. Oh this is one of those odd things I want to mention, his advisor/mentor/boss was Dr. Robert Good, and normally we just use the last name when writing these pages after mentioning them the first time. But with a last name like Good, I tried to use Dr. Good in order to help the reader understand the content. So I was aware of this, not my normal practice, but it is what I decided to do. When I tried to look at the citations that were here when I got here, they were mostly broken links or behind paywalls and could not find the links even in the WayBack Machine. I found a lot without using the articles behind paywalls. There is this book that was written about this, but I could not find it in Google Books (that would let me look at it) so I just left it. I'm sure the book has a lot more content that would add more to the beginning of his life, but I'm not going to be reading that book anytime soon. So this is where I exit. I will keep this page on my watchlist for a bit then do as I usually do and remove it. So if you want to get ahold of me, please reach out to me directly.
