– No need for the same individual to be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC of both William Kidd (disambiguation) page and Captain Kidd (disambiguation) page. His WP:COMMONNAME is "Captain Kidd", as exemplified by Captain Kidd (film), while he is likely unrecognizable as "William Kidd". Users researching Captain Kidd will still be redirected to his William Kidd entry and users who type "William Kidd" may well be searching for William Kidd (painter), but those actually searching for the privateer's entry will find it as the top link on the dab page. If consensus would prefer to simply move William KiddCaptain Kidd, I would support such a move. As for the additional nomination, since English Wikipedia has entries for Bill Kidd (Scottish politician) as well as Bill Kidd (American politician), the main title header of the Scottish politician's entry should have a parenthetical qualifier, with Bill Kidd as well as the incomplete disambiguation Bill Kidd (politician) redirecting to the William Kidd dab page. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 04:33, 29 October 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. Jenks24 (talk) 11:35, 5 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Strong oppose. The name "William Kidd" is more well-known than the request gives credit for. O.N.R. (talk) 16:23, 5 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
