I have no idea where the references are coming from, or how to edit them on this article, but " Lincoln, Joni (2005). Life and Activities of Reverend William Hosmer (PDF). Auburn: Cayuga County Historian's Office." is broken, and the line it supports seems to contradict https://archive.org/details/cu31924029471137 Page 33.
