Enjoyable article and clearly has had a lot of careful editing ....but relatively few citations.... (Needs Inline citations...) edit

I came across this person in a magazine article and checked out Wiki ... I have written a number of engineering bio articles and have had them "critiqued" for references ... So by that standard, this piece is missing a lot of inline citation ...it seems that the detail is there but still ...I think one of the strengths of Wikipedia is the references/citations ... This article should have more citations ... There are a number of good sources for this type of biography... The reader may peruse one of several articles on these West Point cartographers such as George Washington Whistler as an example. The article does give an good number of material at the bottom but is not working into the article...
I did however add a few references that supported a recent article on this gentleman and will come back around to working into the article ... I also added the civil engineering references and categories ... I don't have the heart to flag it with one of the "needs work" banners... But I will add this to my list of articles to work on ...
Many Thanks ... Risk Engineer (talk) 14:10, 8 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

I agree with Risk Engineer. More inline citations are probably needed.Bryankwiat (talk) 19:15, 4 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

No mention of involvement in impeachment of President Andrew Johnson edit

Emory was mentioned in Johnson's articles of impeachment, this certainly warrants mention here. In need of addition by expert. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:600:8280:58F0:7095:D8E3:F0B4:BA3D (talk) 14:03, 22 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
