This article says wrong things about his children

edit

The paragraph about his children is wrong: “His daughter Anne married Charles Pelham and Dorothy was the mother of William Mellish. Two of his brothers, John and Thomas Gore were also MPs.” The marriages in question are NOT his children rather his siblings. This William Gore who died 1739 is the son of the William Gore who died 1707, by William the elder’s wife Elizabeth Hampton. Both Gore-Pelham and Gore-Mellish marriages mentioned in this article are correctly placed “up” in previous generation; Dorothy Gore who m. Joseph Mellish and Anne Gore who m. Charles Pelham are the sisters of the William Gore who died in 1739. (Not the children of.) This is important for many reasons, to include merely posterity; and the integrity of Wikipedia. But also because this William Gore (d. 1739) inherited Tring Park mansion and bequeathed it to his son, Charles, by his wife Mary Compton.

The latter (Mellish) article also contains significant genealogical errors.
