Englewood or Inglewood? edit

Hello, I write an article for the German WP and do some research. In Independence, Missouri I find only Englewood and not an Inglewood. Maybe, Inglewood is a spelling mistake. The Northeast High School is in Kansas City, only some miles away from Independence. I corrected it.--Maxim Pouska (talk) 03:47, 21 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

New article edit

Hello - I am working on a new article first for the German WP and later I translate it for WP:en. Because of this I correct in the stup some typos etc. now.--Maxim Pouska (talk) 10:13, 21 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

A first reference to the magazine Print, 1966 in which an article by Fetter was published: William Fetter: “Computer Graphics at Boeing,” “Print Magazine,” XX:VI, Nov.-Dec. 1966, p. 26-32. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maxim Pouska (talkcontribs) 15:12, 21 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Alan or Allan as middle name ? edit

Hello, I try to do my research. This morning I was looking for the A. in William A. Fetter. Everywhere I can read Allan - but now I looked at the images by Fetter for the WP. There you read Alan. OK - where is this photo coming from? It is posted by Brant Fetter and he is the son of William Fetter. Maybe only he did write the name of his father correctly - my two cents. I chance it in the article at Wikipedia from Allan to Alan.--Maxim Pouska (talk) 07:13, 22 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

I didn't see an email from you about this question, otherwise I would have answered this sooner. Yes, his middle name was Alan. Brant Fetter (talk) 00:31, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Contact to Boeing and new infos edit

@W.carter: Hello, I'm in contact with a senior manager by Boeing - ref nr. 7. David. I get information from David and I informed him about that the article is online and his respons is - Comments:

1. Paragraph 1. I don’t have evidence that Fetter started working on fundamentals of computer animation in 1960. I’m glad you found a reference.

2. Verne Hudson’s full name is "LaVerne Hudson".

3. I think the phrase ‘helped coin the term computer graphics’ is neutral enough. I don’t know anyone associated with the group.

4. I’m trying to get permission to release the original document to you. Unfortunately, there are no authors’ names listed.

My question, how do I get the name by Hudson now correct. Nobody is searching for LaVerne Hudson, but mayby for Verne Hudson. Best.--Maxim Pouska (talk) 11:51, 18 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Maxim, nice to know they appreciate the article. Here are some comments to the posted comments.
1. Ok. :)
2. Hmm, you should not add a name to an article just on someone's say so. There should be sources. I have looked online, but no, nothing there. But since you are waiting for documents, we can include it in a note while waiting for a source for it. I agree with you that he should be called "Verne Hudson" since that would be what people/search engines are looking for, and adding LaVerne in the note will get that name included for the search engines. I'll do it for you.
3. Ok.
4. It does not matter if there are no authors' names on the documents. They are the property of Boeing, and therefore Boeing is responsible for them as their "editor". If you get the documents, remember to use them with restraint and wisdom. They can be considered as primary sources since they are from the company itself and not readily available to just anyone. w.carter-Talk 19:41, 18 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello W.carter - yes I put the new documents from Boeing just in my archive - not more. I have nothing to add to the article my 2 pence. To add the real name is just fair I think. Thanks for doing it. Best.--Maxim Pouska (talk) 20:39, 18 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Many assumptions are made here and conjecture by both Maxim and Dave Kasik. The reference articles re. who and when terms were coined are not supported by the referenced published articles or first hand knowledge or interview of William Fetter. I'll need to come back and make edits based on my first hand knowledge. Brant Fetter (talk) 01:14, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
