Strong Keep: Under the Criteria section of WP:BK is stated the following: "A book is generally notable if it verifiably meets through reliable sources, one or more of the following criteria:".. and one of those criteria is "The book has won a major literary award." The Ned Kelly Award is THE major crime award in Australia. Which I think covers it.

In addition, the author Peter Temple is exceptionally notable in that he is the ONLY Australian author to have won the Crime Writers' Association Duncan Lawrie Dagger award. White Dog is not that novel but does form a part of the author's major Australian crime series featuring Jack Irish. The presence of this novel in Wikipedia provides support for Temple and the author's other works, putting them into context as it provides details about the author's publishing history. Um, this isn't an AfD. If you disagree with the PROD tag, just remove it. If the crime series is so notable, why doesn't it have its own article? Also, Wikipedia is not a place for an author's resume, so that argument is moot. Notable works have their own articles, those that are not do not. If all that can be said about the title is that it won that one award, then this novel doesn't need its own article. At best, it belongs in an overall series article. Now, if you can show that it has been the subject of significant coverage and reviews as well, that would establish notability. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 03:41, 18 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
