The club's "sexist policies" edit

I suggested in an earlier revision that "sexist", unless put in inverted commas, is an inappropriate word in the lede for White's men-only policy, since it is pejorative (see the Wikipedia article on sexism). My addition of inverted commas was anonymously reverted, on the basis that "gender segregation is accurately described as sexist". As a matter of common English usage, I don't think that's right, since one can think of forms of gender segregation which it would be inappropriate to describe as "sexist". For the avoidance of doubt, I am not concerned to defend White's rules (which may or may not be justifiable), but only to exclude un-encyclopedic POV language . But what do others think?45ossington (talk) 10:30, 25 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Subject to contrary suggestions/objections, I am minded to substitute "single-sex policy" for "sexist policies".45ossington (talk) 10:40, 29 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Richard Kuranda? edit

His being a member is a joke / vandalism, yes? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.226.18.186 (talk) 04:14, 16 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

No idea, but I have removed it as original research (WP:OR) since it's unsupported (it may be true for a number of entries)... —PaleoNeonate – 09:24, 16 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

List of notable members edit

Someone eliminated the whole members section, only a few current members now listed. Why dat? 24.4.136.172 (talk) 02:05, 30 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

I added some notable former members in 2008, using Dod's Parliamentary Companion (which is cited non-specifically as a source). I'm sorry to see them all go.45ossington (talk) 16:26, 30 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

P. K. van der Byl edit

This Rhodesian politician was a member of White’s. Should he not be included as a former member? He was notable enough to have a Wikipedia page. 2A00:23C7:E287:1900:E4A4:1AD:92BA:5D46 (talk) 17:28, 8 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
