Radio singles vs. other singles edit

@Misceditor1000: I am genuinely trying to understand - Can you explain where you are finding the information that the singles listing in the infobox is for radio singles only? I have read Template:Infobox album and Template:Infobox song and do not see anything - neither of these pages mention "radio single" at any point. On the Albums template under chronology it says "If the previous or next release has a Wikipedia article, link the title to the corresponding article," implying that an article is not needed in order to include a song in chronology. Furthermore under the singles template on the albums page it says any song released as part of the promotion for the album is included - this would include songs that were released as promotions but didn't end up charting.

Additionally, can you explain why you changed the description of the song from "single" to "promotional single" for Death Row (Thomas Rhett song)? A promotional single " is a single that is made available to radio stations, nightclubs, music publications, and other media outlets by a record label to promote a commercial single or album." A single, on the other hand "can be released for sale to the public in a variety of formats. In most cases, a single is a song that is released separately from an album, although it usually also appears on an album. In other cases a recording released as a single may not appear on an album." This was not released on the radio which would make this simply a single, not a promotional single? Would love to read more on either of these topics if you can point me to pages discussing this. At least for country music, we have always kept the infobox listing exclusive to radio singles. Go on any country album article and the only singles in the infobox list will be the singles issued to radio. That's the way it has been ever since before I was even here.

Same thing with the song infobox. "Single" for the type has never been used for country songs outside of radio singles. Anymore, you could release a song to YouTube before the album's release and it would likely be a promotional single in the country industry, since in said industry those types of singles are typically never sent to radio.
