Wikipedia reported that today Wheelus is known as Mitiga International Airport. However this is incorrect. (Wheelus was south of Tripoli; Mitiga is east of Tripoli.) I know - I was there in the 1960s!
Since this edit the article has maintained that Wheelus AB was subsequently named Okba Ben Nafi Airfield. According to Google Earth, the present location of Okba Ben Nafi Airfield is in the desert west of Tripoli: about 137 km, 250° from Mitiga International Airport. These identifications need to be reconciled. --SteveMcCluskey (talk) 15:48, 18 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
