Lochness Monster... Monsters and Mysteries

edit

Being a long time icthyologist. I was stunned when I watched this episode. As I saw the outline in the water on this episode I immediately said in my head that what we were seeing was a giant, possibly linked to prehistoric plecostomus. It would make sense because as far as I know we have never heard of these creatures “Loch Ness monster” attacking man. Even at this size I suspect these gentle bottom feeders would be as docile as they are at the bottom of a fish tank. They eat mostly vegetation but are known to be omnivores as they will eat decaying corpses of other marine life. They also have been known in proper circumstances to become gigantic, outgrowing fish tanks. Doesn’t seem unrealistic that a fish of this species (essentially a giant catfish) could have a form of gigantism, or possibly live long enough to grow this large. I believe there to be a whole family of them in the Loch and the one we were seeing was the giant bull. All speculation on my part but I believe I’m right. It’s a very distinctive outline and shape.
