The Junger targets couples, singles edit

This is mentioned and sourced.

But how does the Junger try to target singles and affluent couples rather than families? Is it more or less subtle then lack of parent-with-prams parking, and lack of childrens play equipment / parents rooms?

The page used to claim that some department stores at WBJ weren't in any other Westfields Australia locations - but if their biggest claim to fame is having two supermarkets and some discount department stores then maybe they don't target singles as much as they say they do? Secondly - the source is dated 2 August 2004. So there was a promotional campaign two years ago - is that still current? Do they continue to pitch this particular outlet as not being a family shopping destination (or, a destination you go to to avoid mums, dads, and screaming kids)? Sorry, I know the article isn't fantastic. I rewrote it in a hurry to stop it from getting deleted. WBJ makes a consistent effort to attract clientele that have a higher disposable income. When writing these partcular paragraphs, I toyed with a few ways of writing it. This was the best I could come up with, but I thought somebody will fix it up. Go ahead. Be Bold. PS, if somebody could find a reference describing it as WBJ and The Junger, that would be fantastic also. Todd661 02:24, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Sorry - WBJ is probably my own invention... But as for The Junger I got that one from the female presenter on the Merrick and Rosso breakfast show on Nova 96.9. So it has been used in the media but how widespread it is, well I'm a westie I wouldn't know what slang people from the eastern suburbs use to talk about their local landmarks.Garrie 22:29, 6 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
I live 5mins away and have never heard it called "The junger" - some people say "the junction" but in reference to the bus interchange - we call westfield "BJ" , "WBJ" or just "westfield" since its the only westfield easties would go to (eastgardens isnt really east) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.243.64.245 (talk) 15:28, 23 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Claim to notability edit

Westfield Bondi Junction is notable because it differs from the majority of Westfield shopping centres. The centre is located in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, in an area where incomes are significantly higher than other parts of Sydney

Strangely, if Westfields is a global organisation, the majority of outlets will not be in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney. Are we comparing WBJ to Westfields - in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, or worldwide? I am sure that there are many other Westfields locations specifically strategically placed to be in areas of significantly higher than average income. This doesn't make them all notable.Garrie 01:43, 24 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Quality = start.

The article could be improved by providing some photos, mention dates of notable store opening / closures / relocations, mentioning any unique promotional activities, and detailing how Westfield Bondi Junction caters for singles and couples who enjoys a significant level of affluence. Importance = low.

This is one of dozens of Westfield locations nationwide they are essentially the same. What is needed is a quality article defining the Westfield experince within Australia compared to other retail centres.
