Every time you revert/paste your material into the article, it destroys the wikimarkup. And much of the material is of a self-promotional nature. If you would like to see this article updated, please discuss the changes you would like to see here on the talk page. Currently everything here is unreferenced. Is those who edit here want the page to continue in existance, it needs references per notability guidelines for inclusion. No third party, reliable sources means notability is not established. Thus it would not survive a deletion proposal. Western Culinary Institute

Hi Wikipedia Editors, We would like to add factual content to the Western Culinary Institue article. We have removed unnessecary words that make the entry seem advertorial and we have also included references. Unfortunately, we can't seem to get these updates approved and are willing to work on revised copy, but are stumped as to how to get the article accepted after making the revisions suggested. Any suggestions you would be willing to offer would be more than helpful! Thank you!

Thank you for finally heeding our posts on the article's talk page, your talk page and the edit summaries. I trust you have read about the various guidelines we have posted on those pages. I have created a temp page: Talk:Western Culinary Institute/Temp where you can post your suggested article changes. That way we can collaborate on getting the article to its final form and then replace the current article if necessary, without continuing to lose the formatting of the current article. Hi Westerncul, thanks for bringing this up. I think a more appropriate place for the discussion would be Talk:Western Culinary Institute, but that's a detail, so for the moment I'll reply here.

Katr correctly referred you to the guideline on conflicts of interest, but ultimately, those are a guideline about your approach, not a restriction on the content. By disclosing your connection to the school and actively seeking input, I'd say you're doing a great job of following the guideline.

As for the content, I think it would take an enormous amount of work to bring into line with WP standards. I think this will be a time consuming task, and likely not worth your time if marketing the institution is your only goal. But if you want to learn something about WP and how we work, it will be a great education.

For a few starters - and this is by no means comprehensive:

• External links within the text of an article, and links of any kind in section headers, are highly unusual on Wikipedia, and rightly so. The most valuable external links are those to independent and reliable sources, corroborating the content of an article, and those are typically linked in the "References" section at the bottom of the article. For a business, it is commonly accepted that a single external link to that business's web site, in the "External links" section, is all that should be included; links to specific programs within that web site are generally viewed as redundant, and unnecessarily promotional.
• Reliable sources are crucial. I'm sure WCI has been written up at some point by a paper like the Oregonian; it would be best if you can find such an article, and provide a full citation. Including more than one article would be even better.
• Please take a look at a few other articles for small or specialized schools, to get a sense how they are structured. Warner Pacific College comes to mind - not a fantastic article, but its flaws are varied, as opposed to reading like it was produced by the school itself.

Finally, you may be unaware that Wikipedia no longer allows search engine "spiders" to follow external links, so if your goal is in any way related to Search Engine Optimization, you may be on the wrong track, in a purely practical sense.
