Talk:West Yorkshire Combined Authority

Correction to Authority membership / status of WYPTE edit

There's an error on Kirklees; Adrian Lythgo is not an Authority member, he's acting as Head of Paid Service as well as remaining Chief Executive at Kirklees. The politician is Cllr David Sheard, Leader of Kirklees Council[1].

Also, WYPTE isn't a "functional body" of the Authority; it no longer exists, having been wound up at midnight on 31 March, same as WYITA. Unlike the other Combined Authorities, there is no separate 'executive', just the single Authority[2]. Metro still exists as a trading brand though.

Status of York edit

The City of York Council is included in the combined authority of West Yorkshire even though it is actually part of the non-metropolitan county of North Yorkshire. Why is this? Robin S. Taylor (talk) 19:33, 15 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
