Still published? edit

The article at present speaks in both past and present tenses, and it is not clear to me whether WIG is still published. Davidships (talk) 22:10, 19 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Davidships. WIG is no longer published — as the article says, it "lasted until 1965". One of its categories is also "Publications disestablished in 1965". Proscribe (talk) 22:42, 19 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
So it does! I cannot see what I was thinking - apologies - I must go to bed earlier! Davidships (talk) 10:49, 20 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Why does this matter? Maybe the dimensions of the actual paper it was published on was a first? What if one of the staff were from Eastern Europe? Would that be notable to?

There is no signifigance to "WIG is widely considered to have been Britain's first major commercial black newspaper." whatsoever. This article needs to either become a stub or deleted entirely.

It is customary for newspapers to lie about their circulation in order to sell advertising. Why is Wikipedia being used to publish these obvious lies?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.158.159.9 (talk)

If you are saying that the newspaper lied about it circulation figures when it was published, you will need a reliable source that specifically states this paper's figures were inaccurate- not a general statement about the newspaper industry(which should be on the article about the industry as a whole). Otherwise, it's up to readers to determine what they believe themselves. 331dot (talk) 09:00, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
