Unsourced content edit

  • The term West Eurasian might be used interchangeably from the term Caucasoid, but that term as been largely discredited due to lack of sound defining methodologies within its study fields. - No source given for any relationship between "Caucasoid" and "West Eurasian".
  • The "Genetic flow chart representing the West Eurasian differentiation from other human populations" is not based on a reliable source (see WP:RS). --Rsk6400 (talk) 11:19, 23 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Meanwhile the term West Eurasian has been constructed in basis of hard data obtained through research in many natural science fields, and thus may be considered a more scientifically sound alternative to Caucasian/Caucasoid. - No source given for the statement that "West Eurasian" is "scientifically sound". --Rsk6400 (talk) 12:35, 23 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Still more important: The whole article is based on the assumption that the W.E. were a "monolithic population", as stated in the lede. There is no source given for that statement.
  • Neither is there any source for modern descendants (i.e. people living in 21st century) being called "West Eurasians".

Conclusion: The whole article is a hoax. --Rsk6400 (talk) 15:51, 23 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Genetical studies are considered primary sources, see WP:PSTS. --Rsk6400 (talk) 12:35, 23 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Fringe theory edit

The article seems to have been created with the intention of promoting scientific racism, more specifically the idea of a clearly distinguishable "Caucasoid race". The original lede stated The term West Eurasian might be used interchangeably from the term Caucasoid, but that term as been largely discredited due to lack of sound defining methodologies within its study fields. Other ideas taken from that theory are that the "West Eurasians" were a "monolithic" population during a prolonged period of time. Provided that this was the original intention, it will be very difficult to distinguish between sound science, original research and wishful thinking in this article.

@Bathtub Barracuda: I sent you a warning message, because I consider promotion of fringe theory harmful to WP, see WP:Vandalism. --Rsk6400 (talk) 08:41, 26 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

I wasn't able to find the term "West Eurasian". I searched the sources given in the article and also Lazaridis 2016. All that I found was a reader's comment to Lazaridis 2016 using "West Eurasian ancestry". So I wonder if this really is a notable scientific term. --Rsk6400 (talk) 06:11, 28 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
