Actually I'm inclined to agree given the definition of the etymology of a word (and surely by extension, a phrase) is "its origin and development throughout history". Johnbod can you explain why the title "Origin of the term"? is preferable. Bermicourt (talk) 17:38, 12 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
As a matter of style, "etymology" is normally restricted in English to actual discussion of the derivation of words - both Weser and Renaissance can usefully said to have etymologies (though of course the section has absolutely nothing on either), but to use the word for the 20th-century combination of the two as a style-term in art history is ridiculously pedantic and will be confusing to the reader.
