The official name of the community appears to be Wentlooge (not Wentloog) as shown at Ordnance Surveyand Census 2001. Newport City Council appears to use both forms, a search of their website producing 166 hits for Wentloog and 463 for Wentlooge at City of Newport : Search. In addition, the subsidiary villages are shown at Ordnance Survey as St Brides Wentlooge and Peterstone Wentlooge. The article should therefore be moved to Wentlooge. Clearly both spellings are used - personally I'm surprised at the extent of official use of the spelling with the "e", as I think the version without the "e" is more common locally, but I can't dispute your sources. Both versions are English mis-hearings / mis-spellings of the Welsh Gwynllŵg. So long as there are redirects, I wouldn't object to a move. Ghmyrtle (talk) 09:25, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
In the absence of any further comments, I have performed the move (with a redirect, of course). Skinsmoke (talk) 23:19, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Just to comment that I think Wentloog (hundred) should remain as it is, as the more usual spelling of the hundred name, historically, is without the "e" - the inconsistency simply reflects the variation in spelling over time. Ghmyrtle (talk) 06:52, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thought that may possibly be the case so I left the hundred as it is. Skinsmoke (talk) 11:21, 10 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
