She's not dead

This article should be a redirect.

Based upon WP:BLP1E, as well as WP:NOTINHERITED, I propose redirecting this article to the Wendy's section of her father's article. She is not notable in her own right, except for her image being used in the logo (a clear violation of BLP1E) and the fact that her father was famous (a clear violation of WP:NOTINHERITED. Unless sources demonstrating her notability in her own right are found, I will be redirecting this article within the next few days. LHM 00:32, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

I don't think this is a case of notinherited. That principle is that nobody becomes notable on Wikipedia simply because their relatives, friends, boss, etc., are (or in the case of animals and inanimate objects, their owner, guardian, etc). However, in the real world some people are notable in a causal sense because their parents are, e.g. the British royal family, or Will Smith's (very talented) children. I believe the Wendy's mascot is notable in its own right as one of the most recognized corporate mascots around. I don't really have an opinion whether she personally is notable beyond being the subject of a mascot, in which case the article should be renamed and moved to be about the mascot, or just part of her father's article or the company's as a matter of presenting information in a useful way to the reader. There's a separate question afoot whether a cartoon image of her is a reasonable non-free use per WP:NFC. I don't have a strong opinion there either, but it's not a simple case of images of living people. If the use is to show what she looks like, sure, it's not appropos of her as an adult and it could best be replaced by a free one if anybody would care. But if the image use is to show the mascot in an article or section about the mascot, that's conceivably okay. So no opinion either way, just some thoughts. This article is not covered by either WP:BLP1E (as her role as corporate mascot (for lack of a better word) is ongoing for 30+ years and a fictionalized adult Wendy is the company's current spokesperson and advertising icon) nor WP:NOTINHERITED (as she is covered by reliable third-party sources in her own right, not simply for being Dave Thomas' child). The article could surely stand expansion but there are numerous sources available for any interested editor. It is covered by both. She was the inspiration for the mascot, she wasn't as a person, the actual mascot--nor is she today. That one-time inspiration does, in fact, qualify this as a BLP1E problem. Her only other claim would be as the daughter of Dave Thomas, thus NOTINHERITED. And what are you talking about with the comment about "de facto deletion"? This is a redirect proposal. No reason to redirect and is a notable person in my opinion. If the namesake of Wendy's does not deserve a page, then who does? Bascially this could lead to a slippery slope of redirecting and deleting notable articles/people. Jccort (talk) 11:39, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Gary Floto?

Since when was Wendy Thomas ever married to someone named Gary Floto and to whether or not if he passed away? She and Paul Morse have been married since 1989.
