Rename of article ? edit

I propose to rename the article from Welford Road Stadium to Welford Road (see the official site: http://www.tigers.co.uk/29_380.php and also http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/europe/united_kingdom/england/east_midlands/leicester_welford.shtml). As far as I am aware it has always been known simply as "Welford Road". Seth Whales (talk) 20:16, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welford Road StadiumWelford Road — It has been known only as Welford Road for all reasons in the talk above this nomination on the talk page and that I feel merits the page to be moved to that name. There is also no other notible Welford Road that we know of. —The C of E. God Save The Queen! (talk) 21:37, 9 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Dimensions of the playing area edit

The article says nothing about the dimensions of the playing area, although there is mention of the fact that the stadium was removed from the list of World Cup 2015 venues, and this decision has everything to do with pitch dimensions. The IRB laws used to state only a maximum length and width: 100m x 70m (excluding the in-goal area). But the more recent versions of the IRB laws now specify also a minimum length and width for pitches used in test matches. For a game between national representative teams the pitch must be 94-100m long and 68-70m wide.
What are the dimensions of the playing area at Welford Road and will the current redevelopment make the ground suitable for international matches?
