Overview Section

The overview section really does a poor job of overviewing the song, instead it overviews the whole scope of emo culture, and not really that well at that. I think that the overview section should only reference emo culture in order to give a better understanding of the song, rather than trying to explain what emo culture is. Just link to an article that explains emo rather than trying to overview it here. I'll make this edit myself in the next few days if no one has. 76.84.38.215 (talk) 10:44, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Parody Section

Should the parody section even be in this article? It doesn't really add to the encyclopedic knowledge of the song at all. Any comments?--Hazillow (talk) 21:37, 24 February 2008 (UTC) I think so, it adds to how influential the song/video was

Video section

The lyrics are only reputable from a live version of the track, also its quite possible that because they shot 2 videos on that day that the injuries sustained where not from the video for this single and for the second single cancer, Signed a friend 172.216.164.41 18:48, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

You're very correct, it is NOT for the Welcome to the Black Parade video. Well, at least Bob's isn't. Bob was injured during the filming of the 2nd video, Gerard didn't specify when he was tackled. MJB12 21:38, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Okay, what are some of these people talking about? First, we do not know what that 2nd video it was, why would you assume it's Cancer? Two, Welcome to the Black Parade WAS performed last night, not Father. "Father" was the song that was played at Hammersmith, that everyone assumed was Welcome to the Black Parade. Don't edit the page unless you know what you're talking about. MJB12 05:24, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

I do not think the Music Video section should included. The only things we could say was that they played a clip before the VMA performance and that it's directed by Samuel Bayer. So, I removed it since the Music Video isn't even out yet and there isn't enough information about it. We don't even know which video Gerard was hurt in (as said above). We do know that Bob was hurt in the second video they made but are not sure which one it was. And unless I am mistaken they don't even know the title for it (maybe I understood their interview wrong). Orfen 17:49, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

The footage before the VMA performance was not a part of the music video, it was specially filmed for the VMA's. You can even see them walking past Radio City Music Hall. MJB12 21:38, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

No one was takled in the video. i dont think anyone got hurt in that video. it was probably in the second one. Dizzydark 20:21, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

I believe it was after they were done making the video. The Making of the Video should be coming out soon, so they should probably say in that.  Orfen User Talk 20:22, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

on the page for the black parade, it says that one of the influences to the album was the beatles sgt peppers. i think we should add somthing to this page saying that their costumes in the video (and on the cover), look a lot like those the beatles wore for the cover of that album. Dizzydark 21:22, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Ok, done. Good observation, I never looked on the cover before of Sgt. Peppers but when I did it sure looks like their costumes. The single cover really does have a Sgt. Peppers feel to it.  Orfen User Talk 22:27, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

if you're gonna get that detailed, then why not say that the way they wright their name is similar to that of pink flyod the wall??Emopunk 20:45, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

The costumes are important because it has to do with the music video which is why it is in that section. Their font isn't in the music video and doesn't need to mentioned in this article.  Orfen User Talk 01:00, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

Has anyone noticed that you never see the patient and The Black Parade playing in the same shot?

Played at 2006 VMAs

"Welcome to the Black Parade" WAS played at the 2006 VMA Pre-show. That was not "Father". What "Welcome to the Black Parade" was originally thought to be was "Father". Orfen 20:20, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

It was AMAZING! I knew that "Father" song couldn't be the single, it's not long enough nor does it have a proper chorus. The song they played last night was 5 minutes long! MJB12 21:38, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Lyrics

I keep seeing lyrics popping up on this page. Unless I am mistaken it is not encyclopedic to have the lyrics included. All other single pages and song pages I've seen does not have the lyrics on them. I have been taking off the lyrics because I don't think they should be put on there. Orfen 19:53, 4 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes that would be true (i just removed them AGAIN!) Please, whoever it is, stop putting up the lyrics! Leemorrison 20:16, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Video

does anyone know when they release the video?Dizzydark 20:50, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

The video for this song was released on September 26, 2006 user: R.Kelly December 7,2006 ———κκ202.133.192.204 09:18, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Yellow highlighted bits?

In the infobox, what's with the random yellow highlighting? It's horrible. I'd remove it, but I've no idea how ^^;;

Well, it's actually highlighting the name and stuff, it's like that on all the MCR single pages so this is no exception. So, we can't remove it (I don't think) and it is a little bright but it's not like it looks... I don't know, out there.  Orfen User Talk 01:24, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

It's supposed to be that way. Infoboxes, specifically in music, are all color coded...yellows are for singles (and sometimes individual non-single songs), orange are albums, green are collections such as B-sides and demo albums, and red are EP's. MJB12 16:14, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Video/MySpace bulletin

Hey, I realise that when I was editing the video release date info, someone else was doing the exact same thing. It's up to the community I suppose, but I feel my version should be kept (though should probably be edited because it's not very Wiki-like) seeing as it provides more information about release in different countries. --ViperBlade 20:20, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

I think the date should just be kept there because we don't need the information about where it is released. Just the dates will do since a copy of the bulletin/email doesn't need to be put on there.  Orfen User Talk 21:01, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, fair enough. It's out now anyway so my info is completely worthless! --ViperBlade 22:08, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Yeah now it's just a waiting game until October 24. Nothing new and exciting until then.  Orfen User Talk 23:40, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Australian Release

Just so you know in Australia we apparently get the single released tommorow (14th I believe?) However it's been on the radio for ages and I actually got my copy today. The track listing for it is (1) Welcome to the Black Parade, (2)Heaven Help Us and (3) Welcome to the Black Parade (Live). I'm not sure if any of thats worthy to put on the page so i'll leave it up to you guys.Kokiri kid 08:29, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm gonna put it up. We've already got some info on the different types of release so yeah, it's not vital information but I do think it should be there. I'll add it now.
I'm also going to take a look here (France) for the single so I can compare tracklistings.  ViperBlade Talk!! 13:05, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Cheers!Kokiri kid 10:16, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Next single

Are there any sources for House Of Wolves being the next single released?
 ViperBlade Talk!! 20:25, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

There are no CONFIRMED sources for what the next single is. However, recently at [1] they have stated that the next single is "Famous Last Words" and set for a January 22, 2007 release. However, this has not been confirmed by the band and could possibly just be because they played it live on a radio show. Other thoughts from people are the single could indeed be "House of Wolves" or "Teenagers". Other than that I cannot say since no one from the band has said.  Orfen User Talk 20:36, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

This is the first time I've heard any rumors about House of Wolves as the next single. I hope it's not true, even though I love the song, I really don't think it would be a successful single. I've heard rumors of Famous Last Words as the next single for a long time, and I think it would be a good choice. However, I think the band is missing out big time if they don't release Teenagers and I Don't Love You at some point as singles, because I think those two songs will be huge if they release them.WIKI-GUY-1614:19, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

If you go on their website www.mychemicalromance.com, you will see that Famous Last Words and Welcome to The Black Parade are the only songs you can listen to, apart from Blood. I believe that Famous last Words will be their next single because of this. Though I have no real proof sorry. Blkeddie!

Neutral?

"The song is already being touted as possibly the worst song to ever appear as number 1 in the UK Singles Chart."

Come off it. By who, exactly? --Adrianics 17:52, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

It's just vandalism, obvious when you consider Crazy Frog has been #1. --Jamdav86 18:50, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

details!!

could we have a more detailed chart for "welcome to the black parade"??

I want to know how that song is going in other country's and stuff, and i don't know how to do it. Because i live in Australia and have heard it on the radio only a couple of times, i would like to know if it ever went to top ten or something. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Blkeddie! (talkcontribs) 05:32, 3 December 2006 (UTC).

I have somewhat outdated charts I saved at User:Icelandic Hurricane/Sandbox (near the bottom). They used to be in the article, but we apparently can't use them. The Modern rock chart is the only one i can guarantee is updated. íslenskur fellibylur #12 (samtal) 12:41, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Musical Influence

This isn't ever really gone into much on Wikipedia, but it seems relevant to mention that the basis of this song--speaking strictly on chord progressions--is, like so many other, Pachelbel's Canon in D. The final section, especially, is (incidentally, exactly like Blues Traveler's Hook) "Canon in A." This is, of course, purely original and cursory research, much like observations of riffs inspired by Queen.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.32.171.239 (talk) 01:36, 9 January 2007 (UTC).

At the very least, it uses the same chord progression, but there's a VERY large list of songs that do. 69.12.143.197 06:17, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

Some went down to the list of records and singles and edited the songs and put in alot gay references. Some please fix it? I would, but I'm a little new. He doesn't look a thing like Jesus 18:28, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

cool

Horn section?

The Overview section says: "The song consists of 167 separate tracks mixed together, including marching band drums, multiple snares and a horn section."

I'm not too sure there is actually a horn section in the song, but I don't want to remove it in case there is and I just can't place it. Anyone know? 97198 02:47, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, there is a horn section. I just skimmed the song but it is in the chorus that starts at about 4:08 into the song. It's there and maybe in a couple other parts but that was what I found in a quick listen.  Orfen User Talk | Contribs 03:43, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
Okay, thanks! 97198 10:20, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

WttBP or WtTBP?

The Black Parade is the name of the marching band mentioned in the album, right? So the song's title should be "Welcome to The Black Parade". What do you think? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.140.22.64 (talk) 13:34, 27 March 2007 (UTC).

Despite if we think it should be "Welcome to The Black Parade" the song's name is "Welcome to the Black Parade". Since the band released it as such the article's name is supposed to be "Welcome to the Black Parade" and not "Welcome to The Black Parade".  Orfen User Talk | Contribs 16:05, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Internet meme?

The trivia section could include the fact that posting the lyrics of this song is now a common meme in sites like 4Chan and ED. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.148.81.207 (talk) 18:20, August 28, 2007 (UTC)

I added that info por for some reason it was removed. I don't see why this isn't a valid cultural reference as any other. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.148.81.207 (talk) 15:35, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

WHEN I WAS

Video - director.

Should we note how similar the video is to Coma White by Marilyn Manson? It's the same director. He seems to of made a very similar video for both bands.

Track listing

The track listing on here is not a track listing. It's a list of different versions of the title track. I don't have the info to correct it, since I came here to look for it. 209.162.15.225 (talk) 04:00, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
