Talk:Weightlifting at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's 58 kg

My knowledge of weightlifting is incomplete. Can anyone explain why the Bronze wasn't shared with the Thai lifter? Thanks. Alanmjohnson (talk) 09:37, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Because when 2 or more weightlifters have the same result, they are ranked after the bodyweight: the one who is lighter gets the best positioning between them. Eg.: If A, B and C get 200kg in snatch, but A weights 80kg and 200gr, B 80kg 210gr and C 80kg and 208gr, then A will have the gold medal, C the silver medal and B the bronze medal. 217.24.246.92 (talk) 12:36, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Makes sense. Thanks.Alanmjohnson (talk) 16:48, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Records section edit

The Records section has been adjusted to the new records set today(11/07/2008), shouldn't they be left as they were prior to the event taking place? - J.P.Lon (talk) 15:05, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Considering the text says, "Prior to this competition..."', yes. The records set here were not done "prior" to this competition. Either the text needs to be removed or the table needs to be restored. Personally, I prefer the original way with an asterisk denoting which records were broken.Alanmjohnson (talk) 16:52, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Results Table edit

I'm not sure that it looks better with the name column so narrow that one of the names won't fit on a single line and that row is wider than all the others. Alanmjohnson (talk) 03:15, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
