Hi, I'm the editor of the student newspaper. We made some calls to Pittsburgh trying to find the issue of the Courier with the integration article, but we were told no issues in 1943 had an article about the incident. Ah, I've just discovered why most of the article read like publicity material: it was cut-and-pasted from the Webhster University Web site. You have just erased hours (weeks) worth of editing & research. For what purpose?

You have nothing better to do than to destroy pages?

I have been building this page off and on for over a year now. You just destroyed a lot of that work. Who the hell are you?

You also erased other material without consulting first.

Why not erase the whole page? might as well.

Unfortunately, Wiki has no meaningful process for dealing with vandals.

If the material is copied off of another website, we cannot use it unless the copyright holder agrees to release the material under the GNU Free Documentation License, per our copyright policy. Even then, however, the text would likely have to be "tweaked" to fit encyclopedic tone. Please refrain from making personal attacks or calling other editors vandals, as the editor you are speaking to is no such thing. No one owns a Wikipedia article, and everyone is free to edit any article at any time. Seraphimblade 13:48, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

JohnShaft1987 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) (who is pretty obviously Musiclover06 (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log)) has just made a long string of edits (none with an edit summary) reinstating the long and badly-formatted list of supposdly notable alumni, and adding sections on the academic divisions of the university, all poorly formatted and needing seruous copy-editing; he also changed the format of the article in other ways. I've reverted it for now, because it made the article a mess, and sorting out what might stay in copy-edited form and what has to go will be a bit of a job. This is just to give notice that I haven't simply deleted it all, but will try and reinstate what I can, and what's appropriate. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 21:55, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

I suppose your edits made sense. I would not know because I never saw the edits you removed. Hopefully you did not remove one of the alumni they added since she is perhaps more important than all the ones listed in an unimportant sort of way. Her name is Marsha Mason who was in the academy award winning movie "The Goodbye Girl". She was also in the movie "Max Dugan Returns" which was written by Neil Simon. I suspect the stress of that movie in 1983 may have been part of the reason she divorced Neil Simon in the same year. The source is IMDB. See her extended bio at IMDB. School Colors

WU has several on-site graduate centers across the nation, usually at military bases. I talked to the local administrator at my base (who has been there for over 10 years), and asked about the school colors. He said that they were maroon and "old gold" - while pointing to a banner in his office. Stephen Colbert's Gorlock?

Stephen Colbert's financial adviser is named Gorlock ("a luminous green alien in a business suit", according to WP's List of The Colbert Report characters). Any relation to Webster U's mascot Gorlok? 4granite (talk) 03:23, 31 October 2014 (UTC)

As Colbert's program was going off air in a few weeks after that episode, nothing came out of the name similarities.
