SOURCES

  • Recent contributions, of course, rely to an extent on the prior text of the article, although that has been cross-checked as available.
  • In gathering additional data:
    • Publication information. Search of prominent university (UCLA) library catelogue for publication information, as well as established bookseller search sites (Bookfinder, Abebooks) on the net. The text of some articles were found available on the web.
    • Biographic information. The sites were located in chief using Google. Many of these sites are referenced in EXTERNAL LINKS. Also consulted were various reference books (Catholic Encyclopedia, Eerdmans Bible Dictionary, etc.) containing tangential information.
  • Cross checking. Information added checked in order to determine its accuracy; that is, information at one source would be found to confirm or contradict, in whole or in part, information found at another independent source. Judgment made as to what infromation sufficiently reliable to include. Sources used include Wikipedia, other web sites (especially concerning Wayne Teasdale, see EXTERNAL LINKS), & books (e.g., two cited above) that convey tangential information used to judge the accuracy of primary information.
  • Scheduled additional sourcing. Next opportunity to visit a university library, to consult the forwards and prefaces to books by Teasdale, for any additional information given. Already checked is the book he edited with Cairns.
  • The late Wayne Teasdale is a contemporary figure.

Criticism section edit

Initially I tagged, then deleted this section after it appeared to have received contributions that took it far afield from its original premise. The subsequent reversion to its previous state reveals a well and elegantly written appraisal, and though Elfelix knows far more about the content than do I, I've been a pain and tagged it for sources anyway. An elaboration. A goodly part of my rationale for tagging this section was this: The subject of criticism seems to be raised without context or reference to a reliable source. An opponent of the interspiritual view may argue that interspirituality compromises many of the basic tenets of certain world religions is engaging, but seems like a hypothetical proposition. Indeed 'an opponent' is too vague. The section seems to come out of the blue, so to speak. Was there published criticism of the type referred to here? If so, that would establish context. Without it, the question, and its replies, read as original research. JNW (talk) 01:29, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
