"Among the dead were 11 Polish Jews." I have read this in a number of descriptons of the Massacre. Why are the Jews called out when ~110 people of other religions were also killed. Strangely enough I cannot find any reference to either the massacre or Hitler's speech in German Wikipedia, which is a shame as such. However, for me as an uninformed reader of foreign languagem this makes it hard to make sense of the article. A few questions:

- What is a NCO? (please us full terms to make the text more understandable)

- What is a major colonel? I cannot find any explanation for that rank anywhere in Wikipedia. Is this a matter of flawed translation from another language?

- There is not a single German reference to the armenian quote ascribed to Hitler? Its accuracy or real existance is partially doubted in the respective article. Although the German cause of eliminating at least important groups of the Polish people, if not the complete people, can not be challanged under any circumstance, can this quote be accepted as being real? If there are doubts, should it not be left out?

- Who was Wilhelm Wendl? Is that the correct spelling? I do not find references to him in the www except for this article. Playing a major part in this massacre, he would "deserve" more.

Besides: the excerpt of the original German speech given in the article concerning the armenian quote speaks of 'men, women and children of Polish "Abstammung"' which does not translate into race but descent. We should be carful about the use of the word race applied to human beings.

If this article could be clarified and referenced slightly better, I would like to have it started within the German wiki project. People should learn about it...

Numbers

You are right, but that's what the sources say: ...skazano 114 mężczyzn na śmierć... W drodze na egzekucję udało się uciec jednemu z mężczyzn. Siedmiu innych rannych, a nie dobitych przez Niemców, ocalało nadzwyczajnym zbiegiem okoliczności. Łącznie zamordowano 107 mężczyzn. Website 1 and more importantly Piotrowski, Wegner and Lerski confirm 107. This account (citing some printed sources) is the only one where the numbers add up (106 dead, 7 wounded, 1 escaped, 114 total). Gilbert is the only one with a completely different number (170 arrested, 160 shot, 10 left alive) - I left his account out since it seems obviously based on some error (if anybody wants to make a note about his account, attributing it to him, it should be fine).--_{Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk} 15:38, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
