Watergate (disambiguation)Watergate – I don't think there is a primary topic for just "Watergate", while the scandal is significant I don't think I've ever heard it called just "Watergate" and Watergate (architecture) and the complex its self have long-term significance and while there are the likes of Watergate (board game) named after the scandal I don't think the scandal has a particularly strong claim for just "Watergate" similar to The Lincolnshire Poacher for Lincolnshire. The scandal should be kept at the top of the DAB though but otherwise I think this would be better served with no primary topic. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:44, 6 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Oppose. The Watergate scandal is the WP:PTOPIC for the term "Watergate". Even though it is also the name of a hotel and a building complex, the use of "Watergate" as a shorthand for the scandal far exceeds all other uses of the term. Even the FBI refers to the scandal merely as "Watergate"—the scandal is so well-known and has such a historical impact that it dominates use of the term through the present. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 01:05, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
