China bans import of many waste types
The article needs to substantially take account of the Jan 2018 ban by China of imports of many types of waste plastic, which has displaced this dirty industry, often to other third countries such as Malaysia and Thailand. It might have the hoped-for effect of forcing (rich) waste-producing countries to better manage their own waste. See also Global waste trade. Onanoff (talk) 16:59, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
