Translation of Wasserschutzpolizei edit

That's a very literal translation. are we trying to do poor translations here or are we trying to explain stuff to people??

Translation of Wasserschutzpolizei edit

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't it mean "Water Protection Police," as opposed to "River Police"?--YanA 18:21, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've already made the changes.--YanA 20:42, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Translation of Wasserschutzpolizei edit

Just as further explanation. "Schutz" does mean to protect but in general. But in this word combination it is the "Schutzpolizei" (not the "Bereitschaftpolizei" or "Kriminalpolizei") which happens to work on the "Wasser". Constabulary is an adequate approximation for "Schutzpolizei". 109.235.137.238 (talk) 09:56, 24 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
