Two animal shots available edit

I've put two animal photos from a 1974 trip to Jungle Habitat under a CC license on Flickr, in case anyone maintaining this article might like to use them. Dppowell (talk) 18:34, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Israeli cab driver and lions? edit

So is it a fact or not, that in the opening months there was an Israeli cab driver who left his windows a crack open and was attacked by the lions? My mother told us that back in 1972. "The Israelis think they know everything and that they don't have to follow instructions". You bet we left the windows closed without a crack.

We were living in Israel and came back for my aunt's wedding. Me (8 yrs old), my mother and my 4 year old brother were happily stuffed in the back seat of their Ford Pinto (which, now I know, turns out to be the more dangerous part of the rides that day - several Pintos had burst into flames in those years) For some reason, I remember very clearly seeing the guy eaten by the lions in my imagination. Here's a confirmation of the Israeli driver with a very generic name in an article on Jungle Habitat in the "Wierd NJ" New-Jersey magazine. פשוט pashute ♫ (talk) 15:22, 2 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

OK, in List of incidents at Warner Bros. Jungle Habitat it lists: On October 9, 1972, an Israeli tourist, Abraham Levy, driving through the safari in a taxi was attacked by a lion. The reference given is: Laplaca, Bryan. "Back in the Day - Oct. 8, 1997: 'Hal from North Bergen' sued Bloomingdale", Suburban Trends, October 15, 2012. Accessed September 22, 2014. with a remark: "The man in the picture is Abraham Levy who was in the intensive care unit of Chilton Hospital in Pompton Plains. He was bitten by a lion while visiting Jungle Habitat in West Milford.... Two eyewitnesses to the mauling of Levy on Oct. 9, 1972 blasted the Habitat management for allowing what they called dangerous conditions to exist.
