A number of phrases in the article appear in inverted commas, most of them for no apparent reason. Are they quotations? If so, from where? Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 23:43, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • Quotation marks used for emphasis or to indicate they are names/phrases for movements or ideas. It is easy to get carried away, however. I'll try to clean it up a bit.Paradiso 07:58, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Wang Yangming in Japan edit

It's interesting how you've linked WYM to Japan. One wonders about giving as your only reference a Catholic philosopher, who, one assumes, can only evaluate WYM by comparing his views with Catholic philosophy. Taibaka, ne, 19 May 2006

  1. The article only "links" him with Japan by pointing out that Japanese thinkers were influenced by him. What do you find objectionable about that?
  2. If you find that the article suffers from seeing him through Catholic eyes (and I must say that I don't see that at all), could you explain where and how? --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 13:17, 20 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
The Japanese article on Yangmingism has a special section on WYM's influence in Japan, and a list of persons who were influenced by him. Vagabond nanoda (talk) 03:05, 25 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
