This looks an interesting article submitted by AryKun and worthy of being a GA. I will start a review shortly. simongraham (talk) 16:24, 16 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Comments edit

This is a stable and well-written article. 86.6% of authorship is by AryKun. It is currently assessed as a B class article.

  • The text is clear and concise.
  • It is written in a summary style, consistent with relevant Manuals of Style
  • The article is of appropriate length, 1,113 words of readable prose.
  • The lead is of appropriate length at 200 words.
  • Citations seem to be thorough.
  • References appear to be from reputable sources.
  • Earwig's Copyvio Detector identifies the page on the AviBase which uses Wikipedia as a source as a possible violation. All other are "unlikely".
  • Consider removing or expanding the subsection "Vocalisations" as it is very short.
    • Removed the heading.
  • "On New Guinea, it has infrequently been recorded in the southwest from the Mimika River to the Noord River, but these are thought to have been vagrants from the Aru Islands." Is vagrant the correct term? Consider rephrasing as the subject changes from "it" to "these".
    • Yep, vagrant is the correct word, added a link. Reworded to make the subject consistent.
  • Text seems to be neutral and shows a balanced perspective.

Review edit

  • Please change the tense of "The wings and lower back are green and the belly is orange, separate from the chest by a white band" to "The wings and lower back are green and the belly is orange, separated from the chest by a white band"
    • Done.
  • Please rephrase "The shoulder patch is golden-bronze, while mantle and inner wing coverts are bluish-grey with yellow edges that give a scaled appearance." To clarify whether it is the mantle or mantle coverts that are bluish-grey and how far the scaled appearance extends.
    • Reworded slightly; both the mantle and inner wing coverts are bluish grey. The source doesn't give any detail on the extent of scaling, so can't add anything there.
  • Please rephrase "The beautiful fruit dove (P. pulchellus) looks similar, but is smaller and more compact and has a shorter tail, a purple instead of white band, less extensive red on the head, and orange-yellow undertail coverts." removing the proliferation of "and".
    • Reworded.
  • Is "has" in "A short woo has is also made in excitement." part of the call?
    • No, that was a typo, removed.
  • I see no other obvious grammar or spelling issues.
  • Images have appropriate public domain tags for the country of origin. Please add a US tag.
    • Added PD-US tag to the image.
