About the formula "Congress Poland, a puppet state of the Russian Empire"
edit1) This remark (by somebody who thinks himself as very smaaaaart, I suppose) about a "puppet state" is irrelevant.
2) The official name of this state was "Kingdom of Poland"
3) It has had a true history, not a "puppet history". The story of a small state dominated (more and more) by a strong one. A history of resistance...
About the formula "ruled by the Grand Duke Constantine Pavlovich of Russia"
editOfficially Constantine was commander-in-chief of the army of the kingdom of Poland.
He certainly had importance in the government of this state, but it's not relevant to write that he "ruled" it.
There were other protagonists, one Russian (Novosiltsev, personal delegate of Alexander), others Poles (minister Drucki-Lubecki, for instance, from 1820 to 1830).
It must not be forgotten that the relations between Constantine and Alexander were not the relations between "puppet" and master.
History should not be made only with truisms !
