Should we add more NZ historical references to Waiuku and famous Waiukuans - eg One of the founders of St Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Waiuku in the 19th century was Captain Sir John Makgill,who had a large land holding locally. His wife was Margaret Isabella Haldane, sister of Lord Haldane, and their son was George Makgill who returned to Britain to be 11th Baronet of Makgill. I suggest we should move the statistics section which i have just updated to the end of the reference, as it will change every 5 years, and it is easier reading not to start with a whole lot of rather dry numbers. Nzattitude (talk) 23:31, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Copied material

Some of the paragraphs of this article appear elsewhere verbatim, including waiukutown.co.nz (where it’s most obvious), glenbrookschoolnz.com and waiukubnb.co.nz. The paragraphs in question were introduced to the article by Nzattitude in the following two back-to-back edits in 2007: [1] and [2]. It is hard to confirm, but I suspect based on the age and the nature of the copied text, that the material was originally written here, and copied elsewhere. Agreed. I hesitate to say that it confirms anything, as not all sites get archived consistently all the way through their history, but it is one of the strong indications I relied on. — HTGS (talk) 22:20, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
