W to 86th Street edit

I know that the first and last few W trains do in fact run to 86th Street, but I can't for the life of me remember where I saw the reference. I clearly recall seeing some sort of schedule with this information. Where the hell is it? Larry V (talk | contribs) 20:58, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proff. It's not in the public schedule, but it is in the employee schedule. I'm going to re-add it, with the reference. Pacific Coast Highway {talkcontribs} 21:13, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

W train's return is not officially confirmed yet edit

The return of the W (and related service changes) is not confirmed at this point in time. Before becoming official, these service changes have to be reviewed in a public hearing (scheduled for Thursday April 7) and approved by the MTA Board (which will likely happen at next month's MTA Board meeting, on Wednesday April 20). Until the service changes are formally approved, they are just that, proposals. They are not yet official. Just wanted to make this clear so we're all on the same page.

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on W (New York City Subway service). Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

New W schedule and trips to 86th Street edit

Just FYI, new W schedules, including showing the three Brooklyn trips are on Trip Planner on MTA website:

Northbound: http://tripplanner.mta.info/MyTrip/ui_web/serviceinthearea/Timetable.aspx?operator=SUB&route=W&inputDate=11/07/16&direction=N&type=W Southbound: http://tripplanner.mta.info/MyTrip/ui_web/serviceinthearea/Timetable.aspx?operator=SUB&route=W&inputDate=11/07/16&direction=S&type=W

Northbound Brooklyn trips:

  • Leaves 86th Street 6:25 AM, arrives Whitehall Street 7:07 AM, arrives Ditmars Blvd 7:45 AM
  • Leaves 86th Street 6:43 AM, arrives Whitehall Street 7:26 AM, arrives Ditmars Blvd 8:05 AM
  • Leaves 86th Street 6:51 AM, arrives Whitehall Street 7:35 AM, arrives Ditmars Blvd 8:14 AM

(During the Sea Beach rehab I assume these trains will start at Bay Parkway. This is the case for the N trains that normally start at 86th Street during the AM Rush.)

Southbound Brooklyn trips:

  • Leaves Ditmars Blvd 8:33 AM, arrives Whitehall Street 9:17 AM, arrives 86th Street 9:57 AM
  • Leaves Ditmars Blvd 9:17 AM, arrives Whitehall Street 9:59 AM, arrives 86th Street 10:39 AM
  • Leaves Ditmars Blvd 8:19 PM, arrives Whitehall Street 8:58 PM, arrives 86th Street 9:38 PM

These trips run fully local in Brooklyn.

(Pre-2010 all three of these trips were in the evening, but now two of them are in the morning. Also pre-2010 these trips terminated at Kings Highway but the new schedule shows them terminating at 86th Street.)

You should wait until the Official Service Guide is updated to put this information. We usually follow what it says for the rush hour trips on other services. If it mentions the W going to Brooklyn ("some rush hour trips to/from 86th Street, Brooklyn"), then we can put the 4th Avenue and Sea Beach stops in the line and stops table. If not, we should leave it the way it is. Also, do not assume stuff without knowing for sure. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.3.78.119 (talk) 00:03, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
