May 3rd date

edit

Should we really list a source that described itself as "potentially misleading." I think we should hold off on putting ANY release date here unless Ye or Ty Dolla's team confirm any dates or they themselves decide on a date AND confirm it themselves. skelter (talk) 22:07, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

change "who is currently serving a life sentence for a murder he he did not commit." to "who is currently serving a life sentence for a murder he allegedly did not commit." Crinkel (talk) 00:16, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Remove the grammatical error “murder he he did not commit” in the Cover art section of the page. 2601:642:C400:3AD:F024:2447:5186:D791 (talk) 00:29, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

DRAFTIFY

edit

I believe that this article fails WP:FUTUREALBUMS which states that "An article about a near-future but not yet released album qualifies for inclusion if critical information about that album has been confirmed in reliable sources. This must include the title, cover image, release date, track listing, and other critical information as required in an album article. A separate article should not be created until such information is available and confirmed by the musician and/or their record label, and reported upon by reliable sources." It does not say it must include title or cover image but title and cover image, meaning this page is few elements away from completion. Artists, Ye, Ty Dolla Sign and ¥$ did not release the track listing, references on this article only cites speculations from fans on social media and the release date was not announced also. dxneo (talk) 00:32, 11 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Can someone check the track listing?

edit

Some of the songs listed are either unable to be found or contain inaccuracies. For instance, the song ‘Model’ (also unable to be found) has been incorrectly attributed to featuring BotMert and Orpheus, who are likely not involved. Merescooky (talk) 02:15, 20 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Tracklisting

edit

We should remove the tracklist, they are just rumors and news about features not the actual features on the album Addictedtoanime122 (talk) 03:17, 31 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

James Blake did not contribute to the album

edit

The page lists incorrectly the following as producers: Fya Man, Gren808, James Blake and Lamm, none of them contributed to the album or even if they did, they are not mentioned in the official credits. 177.240.121.99 (talk) 19:10, 3 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Critical reception, #1 debut and genre(s)

edit

The genre section should be blank until an official critic or a review comes out listing those, the albums and many songs of it are already #1 on Apple music and this information should be already provided in the page, as well as some reviews have already been made by bloggers, critics and websites. 177.240.121.99 (talk) 19:13, 3 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Allegations of AI usage / Controversy Section

edit

The entire section of controversies and allegations of AI use is complete speculation, and gives no backing or real examples. It goes as far as just stating as if fact that this and that verse are AI from this and that song.

The article linked and the conclusion taken from it are also completely different. The article makes no claims and just shows some random people on the internet speculating on the idea. The conclusion acts as if its proof of an allegation of AI and runs on saying it as if fact.

As well the entire next paragraph is just plainly false. There's no indication anywhere that they are making fixes *because* of the AI allegations. And if we are to act on assumptions it'd be more rational to assume its to fix mixing issues like the changes made after Volume 1 was released.

The section should be reduced to simply addressing that there are some allegations and speculations, and for specific songs, but definitely shouldn't allude to it as a fact as it is currently. Until there is at least hard evidence.

And the reasons for fixing shouldn't necessarily be elaborated on, or at least pinned to a more rational (and precedented) reason. RockyDerFailure (talk) 20:07, 4 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Yeah I agree, we shouldnt just use sources that say it uses ai without actually ye saying it Addictedtoanime122 (talk) 00:18, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
We don't need Ye to say it, he wasn't the only person to work on the album, though there's no official confirmation- there is firm evidence that ai was utilized in at LEAST two songs on the album (FIELD TRIP and SKY CITY) also, many updates to the album updated the mixes on vocals that were suspected to be ai Cringe AG (talk) 15:33, 27 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
ok, ok thank you for clarifying i appreciate it a lot Addictedtoanime122 (talk) 01:10, 28 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Producers disinformation

edit

The page lists James Blake as a producer of the album, this information most likely comes from Genius, however unreliable without refenrece not credibility as he is not listed on the official credits, the same goes to the names of Fya Man, Gren808 and Lamm being credited on the page. Stop the disinformation. 177.240.121.99 (talk) 23:14, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Unsourced genres

edit

The genres category lists hip hop, R&B and trap, while this might be the case, the information is unsourced thus making it not official and unreliable. Only list genres when official sources are available with its proper references. 177.240.121.99 (talk) 23:24, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Album cover

edit

While the album cover was revealed through social media months before the album was released, the one featured on the page is not the the official one the album was released with, and the “Cover” section on the page does not explain this thoroughly, this needs to be updated and properly referenced. 177.240.121.99 (talk) 01:11, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Recorded*

edit

The recording of some songs dates back to 2018, SKY CITY was recorded for the unreleased Yandhi/Jesus Is King, MY SOUL was recorded for Donda, and 530 was recorded for Donda 2. Therefore the *recorded section in the info box depicting 2023–2024 is incorrect and unreferenced, as it should be 2018-2024 and properly referenced. 2806:262:496:852A:E187:C8CE:C4CB:5A45 (talk) 21:32, 7 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Now with CAN U BE being released, the production of this album dates back to 2016, 2018, 2022, until the present 2024, this information needs to be implemented in the page. 177.240.121.99 (talk) 13:47, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Producers list and credits

edit

In the album info box at the producers section Scott Bridgeway is missing, however Fya Man, Lamm and Gren808 are still there, having no official credits in the album. 177.240.121.99 (talk) 13:20, 8 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

With the bonus tracks being now released, not only Scott Bridgeway needs to be added as a producer in the page, but also JPEGMafia, Adam Vadel, Veyis and Havoc, meanwhile Fya Man, Gren808 and Lamm should not be listed as they are not officially credited, thus not being part of the project/album. 177.240.121.99 (talk) 13:52, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Add "Believer", "Drunk", and "Gun to my Head" to the track listing

edit

The newest tracks: "Believer", "Drunk", and "Gun to my Head", need to be added to the Track listing section with their proper information such as title, writers, producers and length. 177.240.121.99 (talk) 18:56, 8 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm tackling this review. I just went through the whole article and this is really such a good piece which I'd actually pass right away. However, I have a few minor suggestions. Oh, please consider reviewing "Truth or Dare". dxneo (talk) 00:35, 7 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

post-release updates

edit
  • For the first update on August 6, 2024, "River" received a new mix and drums, with sound effects removed too. "530" was provided with altered sound effects and some distorted vocals, adding Ty Dolla Sign. "Fried" had a new mix and seemingly unmastered ad-libs, while "Field Trip", "Sky City", and Dead" — this is cited to references and there are periods in between the sentences, so I thought maybe you could put a reference after each sentence. Thoughts? dxneo (talk) 00:35, 7 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

  •   Done you made a fair point here, silly of me to have added this! Also, I think release history is too hard to source being that I had to add multiple citations to back up the full context of the album's release anyway and it's only been released in download/streaming too. --K.
