Talk:Volodymyr (city)

Name of the town in German edit

It says the name in German is Wolodymyr. But this is exactly the transkription of the Ukrainian name, so nothing new or different.

But the town had a German name (although seldom used), and this was Wladimir-Wolynsk (Wolinsk).

To say Wolodymyr is the German name is like saying Moskwa is the German name of Moscow; in fact it is called Moskau in Germany.--Wanfried-Dublin (talk) 08:41, 25 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
