Proposed merge with Volksmusik edit
If this article doesn't yet sufficiently demostrate that this is manufactured music tailored to an audience through recordings, and not genuine German folk music, then it needs complete rewriting. This is closer to the German equivalent of Nashville Sound.--Wetman 07:58, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

The Oom-pah article does not clearly state what oom-pah music is exactly, but it sounds like it's a nickname of some sort for Volkstümliche Musik. Does anyone know more?
Especially the fact that there is no German Wikipedia article about Oom-pah music makes me doubt that this is actually a valid music genre. Chl (talk) 16:13, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
