edit

I believe I have taken out the advertisement tone of the article, but I have replaced the corresponding template with a Copy edit template, as the article still needs considerable work. The Primary sources template is also no longer necessary, as diversity has been established; however, more a citation review needs to be undertaken. An outstanding issue is the patchiness of the History section—there are significant gaps that need to be filled.--Soulparadox (talk) 20:15, 14 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

In my opinion, the lede and the Volcommunity section still has a tone like a company press release. I'm also not sure that including the nicknames of the founders helps make them any more identifiable but does help to degrade the neutrality.

Pronunciation edit

How is the name pronounced? I've heard two different versions:

  • Vole-com (like .com)
  • Volecum

It is pronounced Vole-com. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.109.188.9 (talk) 23:50, 26 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Anyone have any sourced confirmation of either of these (or a third)?

- Vole-com. I work for them. Thats how the boss pronounces it. Ha.

Thank god, I was afraid it was the second. Somebody tried to tell me they were absolutely certain I was wrong about it being called Vole-com. Ridiculous.  —Peco! Peco!TALK 00:55, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Spamming team names edit

It seems to be all the rage on any page with sponsored lists.

origin of the name edit

Hi ! Does anyone know how the name "Volcom" came about ? As long as I've been a fan, i've always wondered. If anyone knows the answer, they should also include it in the article ! Thanks !

And also, perhaps we should include the right pronunciation in the article ? It has always been a debated topic among fans.--Marc-Olivier Pagé (talk) 04:25, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Transparency? edit

Would it be appropriate to replace the white background around the logo with a transparent one? New to wiki 75.69.73.202 (talk) 19:08, 26 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sightings edit

Would it be appropriate to mention that Jack Black wore a Valcom Stone t-shirt when he appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on May 23, 2011? Sheherazahde (talk) 07:46, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

No, that information is trivia and has no significant impact on the company. Thanks, 72Dino (talk) 13:19, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
