I'll have a go at this one. The US cover is more immediate than the 1st ed. Brit one, which has more environment about it .. but not sure the Brit one wasn't better artwork. Guess they were simultaneous! Reviewer: Chiswick Chap (talk · contribs) 11:44, 11 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Comments edit

This is so well-written I'm having trouble finding anything much to say.

(-: Thanks.
  • However, it might be worth giving a quick overview of Gifts in or near the Setting section.
  • Added.
  • The connection between the theme of Jung and the following sentences is at the moment only half-implied; it would I think be worth spelling out the connection(s) a little more explicitly. For instance, the theme of storytelling plainly could be linked to Jung (do I hear the word archetype, perchance?) but currently it isn't.
  • Added a little: Lindow is a bit hazy in this section, too. If it's still unclear I'll copy the paragraph here, and maybe you can make sense of it.
  • Fahrenheit 451 also featured oppressive authorities who burnt the books, of course. It wasn't just a matter of accidental bonfires.
  • True. Added.

Minor edit

  • Might be best to use the full 978- type ISBN.
  • Done
  • Done, and dropped in a few others as well.
  • The dressing as men has strong present-day resonance with oppression under groups such as IS but I'm not sure there's anything we can do about it, even wikilinking.
  • Yeah, me neither. There's some stuff in the sources about the dressing as men, but apart from the stuff I've put in it's rather highbrow material, without any direct statements about real world analogy.

Summary edit

This is already easily up to GA standard, so I'll wish the article well on its journey to FAC and thank nom for fine work, as usual. Chiswick Chap (talk) 16:18, 11 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
