Talk:Voiceless retroflex lateral fricative

Audio sample edit

I'm no expert but this doesn't sound retroflexed to me. It sounds like Voiceless palatal lateral fricative. Angry bee (talk) 17:34, 23 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

I tend to agree. The voiceless retroflex lateral fricatives I've pronounced sounded different from the one here, whereas the voiceless palatal lateral fricatives sounded much more similar to it. --JorisvS (talk) 19:40, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Obviously this is hard to judge when our recordings are from several different speakers, but I don't hear anything majorly wrong here. Perhaps the recording is more apico-postalveolar than subapical? --Trɔpʏliʊmblah 19:09, 25 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
What about laminal? --JorisvS (talk) 09:24, 26 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
I am no expert nor do I speak any language where this consonant exists, so if you can record a better sample than mine, be my guest. TFighterPilot (talk) 20:35, 6 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Toda square... again edit

@Kwamikagami:, why are you reverting the [ɭ̊˔] symbol, insisting on a non-IPA symbol that doesn't even display in my browser? Peter238 (talk) 13:57, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Still a problem? It was added to Unicode in version 6, and we're now at version 8.
BTW, the symbol is now in the extIPA, so it should probably get better font support soon. — kwami (talk) 17:44, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks. Peter238 (talk) 18:03, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
